Kaizer Chiefs Face Midfield Dilemma: Release Sithebe or Stick with Him?

Sithebe joined Chiefs last season but hasn’t quite lived up to expectations. Sikhakhane believes Sithebe should return to his former club AmaZulu, suggesting he simply isn’t good enough for the Soweto giants.
“They can release him,” Sikhakhane told FARPost. “He hasn’t done anything special and isn’t a top midfielder.” He criticized Chiefs’ transfer policy of signing players based solely on past performance rather than tactical fit.
This puts pressure on Chiefs’ management, who must decide Sithebe’s fate. With only ten games remaining, can he prove his worth or is a return to AmaZulu the best option?
Dove to Remain a Glamour Boy?
While Sithebe’s future is uncertain, another midfielder seems to be securing his place. Reports suggest Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove is set for a contract extension.
Dove joined Chiefs last year on a free transfer and has impressed with his versatility and leadership. According to Citizen, a two-year extension clause already exists in Dove’s contract, and an agreement is likely imminent.
Dove’s experience and leadership are seen as crucial for Chiefs’ rebuild next season.
Looking Ahead
Kaizer Chiefs have four crucial games remaining, starting with an away fixture against AmaZulu on May 12th. Fans will be watching closely to see if Sithebe can turn things around or if the club heeds Sikhakhane’s advice. The upcoming matches will also be a chance for Dove to further solidify his role as a leader for the new-look Chiefs.
