KZN Police Thwart Robbery, Fatally Shoot 4 Suspects in Harding

Harding, KwaZulu-Natal – In a swift response to a tip-off, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) police successfully apprehended four armed robbery suspects in Harding yesterday, June 10th, 2024. However, the incident resulted in a shootout that left all four suspects fatally wounded.
According to police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda, authorities received intel about a planned robbery at a shopping mall in Harding. They deployed a multidisciplinary team, including members of the Hawks and the anti-gang unit, to intercept the criminals .pen_spark
Planned Robbery Interrupted
The team’s vigilance paid off. They were able to identify the suspects shortly after they robbed a businessman who had visited a bank at the mall .
“A shootout ensued after the robbers spotted the police officers,” said Netshiunda. “The suspects refused orders and opened fire at the police.” Thankfully, no officers were harmed in the exchange of gunfire .
Investigation Underway
While details about the retrieved weapons and the stolen money remain undisclosed, authorities are currently investigating the incident.
“We are searching for more suspects who might have fled the scene,” Netshiunda added.
