While the Biden-Harris administration has expressed support for renewing the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), the legislative process is facing significant headwinds. Assistant US trade representative for Africa, Connie Hamilton, acknowledged the challenges posed by the domestic political landscape, stating that a renewal is more likely to occur in early 2025.
