Worcester Court Delivers Heavy Sentence to Protect Community. In a decisive move to safeguard the Worcester community, the Western Cape’s Regional Court has imposed a substantial prison term on a local gang member, sending a clear message against crime and violence in the area.

Gang Member Convicted for Murder and Firearm Offense. Lyle Anthony, a known member of the Fast Guns gang, has been convicted for the killing of 30-year-old Peter Prins and for unlawfully possessing a firearm, marking a significant victory in the fight against organised crime.

The court revealed chilling details of a January 15, 2017, incident where Lyle Anthony brutally stabbed Peter Prins while he was enjoying a beer in Riverview, leaving the community reeling from the violent act.

Cold-Blooded Attack Ends in Immediate Arrest. Lyle Anthony ambushed Peter Prins with a fatal stab from behind, leaving him dead on the spot. Moments later, police apprehended Anthony near the scene, catching him in the act of discarding a bloodied knife—critical evidence linking him to the crime.

Initially, an eyewitness pointed fingers at both Lyle Anthony and gang leader Gershwin “Lupak” Maart for the murder. But six months later, the story took a dramatic turn when the witness confessed to fabricating Maart’s involvement out of spite, leaving Anthony solely implicated in the crime.
