The announcement took place on Thursday at a significant event held at Microsoft South Africa’s headquarters in Johannesburg, where President Ramaphosa delivered the keynote address.

This substantial investment is a cornerstone of Microsoft South Africa’s Investment Launch, aimed at enhancing its cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in the region. The initiative seeks to meet the growing demand for Azure services, particularly within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) area, underlining the rising role of cloud computing in strengthening local economies.
