The red carpet at the recent South African Style Awards shimmered brighter than a disco ball this past weekend! Held at the Sandton Hotel, the event was a star-studded celebration of Mzansi’s finest fashion icons. Let’s take a peek at who brought the heat and slayed the style game:
Golden Glam

The theme for this year seemed to be “Golden Goddess.” Model Ponahalo Mojapelo, a vision in a sequined gown that cascaded down the red carpet, stole the show and rightfully bagged the “Most Stylish Model” award. Media personality Motshidisi Mohono dazzled in a shimmering black dress, proving that elegance never goes out of style.
Suited Up and Stylish
It wasn’t just the ladies who brought their A-game. Actors Senzo Radebe (Most Stylish Performing Artist in Film/TV) and Dr Musa Mthombeni (who, along with his wife Liesl Laurie-Mthombeni, won the “Most Stylish Couple” award) looked dapper in sharp suits. Dr Mthombeni even rocked a double-breasted velvet blazer, proving that the “Double Velvet” power couple knows how to make a statement.
Standing Out from the Crowd
Singer Tyla Seethal had her siblings and parents proudly accept the “Most Stylish Performing Artist in Music” award on her behalf. However, not everyone followed the golden theme, creative director Bee Diamondhead, who snagged the “Most Innovative Style” award, stayed true to his name with a quirky, multi-textured ensemble.
