Mercedes-AMG has once again pushed the boundaries of automotive performance with the introduction of the new GT 63 S E Performance model, featuring a potent combination of a twin-turbo V8 engine and a rear-mounted electric motor. The GT 63 S E is expected to launch in 2025.

A blend of raw power and advanced technology defines the latest addition to Mercedes-AMG’s lineup.

Harnessing the power of a 150kW electric motor paired with the twin-turbo V8, the GT 63 S E Performance boasts staggering outputs of 600kW and up to 1,420Nm of torque. This formidable hybrid setup propels the car from 0-100km/h in a blistering 2.8 seconds and enables a top speed of 320km/h, setting a new benchmark as the fastest-accelerating Mercedes production model to date.

The integration of the electric motor, linked directly to the rear axle via a two-speed transmission and limited slip differential, ensures instantaneous response and electrifying performance. In dynamic driving conditions, power can be transferred to the front wheels when needed, enhancing stability and control.

Despite its performance credentials, the GT 63 S E Performance offers a practical side with an electric range of up to 13km, thanks to its 6.1 kWh high-performance battery positioned above the rear axle.

Beyond its powertrain, the GT 63 S E Performance is equipped with cutting-edge technologies to enhance aerodynamics and handling. An active aerodynamic element beneath the front bumper creates a Venturi effect, enhancing roadholding at high speeds. Additionally, features like Active Ride Control suspension, semi-active roll stabilization, and active rear-axle steering contribute to exceptional agility and stability.

Lightweight 20-inch wheels, huge carbon-ceramic brakes, and plenty of high-performance hardware

Ensuring optimal braking performance, the GT 63 S E Performance is fitted with AMG’s ceramic composite braking system with six-piston calipers at the front, delivering precise stopping power.

Inside the cabin, the GT 63 S E Performance offers a blend of luxury and technology. Electrically adjustable AMG sports seats with massage functions provide comfort during spirited drives, complemented by a range of upholstery options. The MBUX multimedia system features AMG and hybrid-specific displays and functions, offering a seamless blend of performance and connectivity.

With its groundbreaking hybrid powertrain, advanced aerodynamics, and sophisticated technology, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance sets a new standard for high-performance luxury coupes.

Luxurious Cabin Design and Practical Cargo Solutions

The redesigned AMG GT coupe boasts a cabin similar to its SL counterpart, featuring a 2+2 seating layout and a fixed roof for a comfortable and opulent driving experience. This model offers supportive seats and ample room, accommodating even taller drivers with ease.

Mercedes-AMG GT coupe’s cabin is very similar to that of the Mercedes-AMG SL

In terms of practicality, the AMG GT’s hatchback body style provides a more useful cargo area compared to the SL, despite housing a battery pack for the E-Performance variant. The rear seats, although compact, can be folded down to significantly expand the cargo space, adding versatility to the GT’s sports car appeal. Specific details about cargo capacity will be confirmed closer to the release date.

Mercedes-AMG’s tech features for the redesigned GT coupe are expected to mirror those of the SL model, featuring a prominent 11.9-inch portrait-style touchscreen displaying the latest MBUX software from Mercedes-Benz.

Like the SL, the interior of the AMG GT offers extensive personalization options. Customers can opt for bespoke Manufaktur choices such as Nappa leather upholstery with diamond quilting or a combination of Nappa leather and microfiber with contrast stitching. Similar customization extends to exterior paint selections and a variety of wheel designs to suit individual preferences.
