Maletlhogonolo vanished on Sunday, April 28th, from her home in Goedgevonden village, North West province. According to police spokesperson Colonel Adéle Myburgh, Maletlhogonolo was allegedly left alone with a three-year-old sibling when a parent went to a tavern. Upon returning home, the parent discovered Maletlhogonolo missing. A search of the surrounding area has proven fruitless, and a case of child neglect is also under investigation.

Maletlhogonolo was last seen wearing a red tracksuit top, peach trousers, and no shoes. She is described as having dark complexion.

In the Western Cape, the search continues for Joshlin Smith, who disappeared from Saldanha Bay on February 19th. This case took a shocking turn in March when Joshlin’s mother was arrested on charges of kidnapping and trafficking her daughter. A new suspect has also been charged, but Joshlin remains missing.

The disappearances of these young girls highlight the vulnerability of children and the devastating impact such cases have on families and communities.

Authorities urge anyone with information on Maletlhogonolo’s whereabouts to contact Sergeant Cecilia Batantse or Captain Willem Smit on the provided numbers or the South African Police Service Crime Stop number. Information can also be submitted through the MySAPS App.

For Joshlin, any information should be directed to the Saldanha Bay Police Department.

The public’s assistance is crucial in bringing these girls home safely.
