In a historic move aimed at curbing the scourge of gender-based violence and enhancing the judicial system, President Cyril Ramaphosa signed into law the National Council on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Femicide Bill along with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Amendment Bill. The signing ceremony, held at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, marks a significant step forward in South Africa’s ongoing struggle against gender-based violence and femicide.
