Two of the individuals were arrested for possession of counterfeit merchandise valued at millions of rand. The seized items include a variety of goods, such as clothing, shoes, sports apparel, perfumes, sunglasses, watches, and bags.

The remaining two individuals were apprehended for violating immigration laws.

“The South African Police Service remains relentless in its efforts to eradicate the trade in counterfeit and illicit goods nationwide,” declared SAPS spokesperson Amanda van Wyk. “This recent operation demonstrates our commitment to protecting legitimate businesses and consumers.”

The exact nationalities of those arrested were not disclosed. The seized counterfeit goods will likely be destroyed, and the arrested individuals will face legal proceedings.
