Johannesburg, Gauteng – Sekhukhune United Football Club announced the signing of Congolese striker Andy Boyeli on Thursday. The 23-year-old forward joins Babina Noko from Zambian club Power Dynamos on a three-year contract.
Boyeli’s arrival comes after previous rumours linked him to a move to South African giants Kaizer Chiefs. However, Power Dynamos CEO Gibson Chaloba dismissed these claims, paving the way for Sekhukhune United to secure his signature.
“The Congolese goal ace joins Babina Noko on a three-year contract and is expected to arrive in Johannesburg early next week to join his new teammates for pre-season,” announced Sekhukhune United in an official statement.
Boyeli’s impressive form during the recently concluded Zambian Super League season undoubtedly attracted interest from Sekhukhune United. He found the net eight times domestically and added three more goals in just four appearances for Power Dynamos in the CAF Champions League.
The club also took the opportunity to express their appreciation to Power Dynamos. “The club wishes to thank the Board of Directors at Dynamos for the professional manner in which the negotiations for the transfer of Boyeli were handled,” concluded the Sekhukhune United statement.
Boyeli’s arrival bolsters Sekhukhune United’s attacking options as they prepare for the upcoming South African Premier League season. His goal-scoring prowess displayed in Zambia will be closely watched by fans and analysts alike, eager to see if he can replicate his success in the more competitive PSL.
