MBOMBELA, South Africa – Mpumalanga police are scrambling to locate a missing six-year-old boy, Junior Mabandla, who vanished from his home in Pienaar on June 3rd.
Authorities are offering a R20,000 reward for any information leading to Junior’s safe return. The search intensifies as days turn into weeks, with anxieties mounting for the Mabandla family.
According to Colonel Donald Mdhluli, a provincial police spokesperson, Junior was last seen leaving his residence to buy sweets from a nearby spaza shop. He never returned.
“We are urging anyone with information to come forward,” Colonel Mdhluli pleaded. “No detail is too insignificant.”
The Mpumalanga SAPS is directing the public to contact Detective Warrant Officer Vusimuzi Makamo on a dedicated hotline, 060 774 9660. Additionally, anonymous tip-offs can be submitted through the mySAPS app or by calling the Crime Stop hotline.
Junior’s disappearance casts a shadow over the Pienaar community. The reward reflects the urgency of the case, with authorities hoping it will incentivize anyone with knowledge to speak up.
As the investigation unfolds, Mpumalanga law enforcement is appealing to the public’s compassion and vigilance. Every piece of information could be the key to bringing Junior home safely.
