Durban Shootout: Six Suspects Killed in Police Operation

Durban, South Africa – In a dramatic early-morning operation on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, South African police neutralized six suspected criminals linked to a series of violent crimes. The shootout took place in the South Beach area of Durban.
The suspects were believed to be responsible for a spate of extortion activities and multiple murders, including the recent execution-style killings of four men in Mariannhill. Police had been tracking the group and, acting on intelligence, located them hiding in an apartment building.
When officers attempted to apprehend the suspects, a gunfight erupted. Despite the suspects’ heavy armament, police managed to eliminate all six individuals without suffering any casualties. Three firearms were recovered at the scene.
The identities of the deceased suspects have not been publicly released, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the group’s activities.
