Disbarred Advocate Teffo Drops Bombshell Claims on Meyiwa Murder Case

Advocate Malesela Teffo has recently made headlines for his latest claims regarding the Senzo Meyiwa murder case. In an interview on MacG’s Podcast and Chill on July 17, 2025, Teffo alleged that Senzo Meyiwa was accidentally shot and killed by Kelly Khumalo during a fight at her house, not in a robbery as the current state’s theory suggests.

Teffo claims to have a prison affidavit from Longwe Twala backing his assertion that the shooting was a “fatal mistake” by Kelly Khumalo while handing a gun back to Senzo during an argument. He further alleged that the gun used was a .38 revolver linked to prosecutor Advocate George Baloyi, and that the same gun was involved in the death of Baloyi’s son in 2004. Teffo also made claims about high-level police corruption and implied that the five accused in the current trial are scapegoats.

It’s important to note that Malesela Teffo was struck off the roll of legal practitioners in September 2022 by the Pretoria High Court, following numerous complaints about his conduct, including misleading the courts and contempt of court. Despite being disbarred, he continues to make public statements regarding the Meyiwa case and other matters. He has also faced charges related to assault, fraud, corruption, trespassing, and contempt of court.

His latest claims on the podcast have generated significant public discussion and controversy, particularly given his disbarred status and previous dramatic statements during the Meyiwa trial.
