Johannesburg, South Africa – The case against Sithembile Xulu, a Gauteng nurse accused of orchestrating the murder of her domestic worker to claim R6 million in life insurance, has been adjourned to next week. Xulu appeared alongside her garden worker and co-accused, Simon Mogale, in the Lenasia Magistrate’s Court.
The pair face three counts of fraud, one of murder, and one count of defeating the ends of justice. They are accused of murdering 21-year-old Busiswa Nxumalo, whose body was found at a dump site in Lenasia South in January 2022. Nxumalo had been stabbed to death.
During her bail hearing, Xulu pleaded not guilty to all charges, insisting she committed no offence. The case has been adjourned to Wednesday next week for the continuation of the formal bail application. Both Xulu and Mogale have been remanded in custody pending their next court appearance.
